Principal Amanda Golden Appointed to the Ohio Art Corridor Board
In mid-December, Managing Principal Amanda Golden was appointed to the boardof the Ohio Art Corridor. As Treasurer of the Board, Golden is passionate about equitable access to art and couldn’t be more thrilled to play a small role in bringing more public art to Southeast Ohio.
Officially launched on October 30, 2018, The Ohio Art Corridor showcases outdoor art in the towns and communities that make up the Appalachian area of Southeast Ohio. The brainchild of David Griesmyer, this project seeks to revitalize the economy of this scenic area with both Appalachian art and culture. When completed, this will be the largest outdoor gallery in the world at 144 miles, surpassing one in Stolkholm that covers 70 miles.
The corridor includes existing art and allows for new artworks to be added as they are commissioned. In order to be included in the Corridor, it must meet three criteria:
– The art must be outdoors and free.
– The art must be large.
– If the art is not large, it must consist of 3 smaller sculptures in one location.
The Ohio Art Corridor’s Mission: “is to provide Appalachia access to culture, art, educational experiences while supporting and increasing tourism and revenue.”
