Duluth High School Students Get Creative about Public Art
This week, the Designing Local team had the opportunity to speak in twelve art classes at Duluth High School.
These classes covered a range of types of art classes including: Mural and advanced painting, Sculpture, 3D, 2D, pottery, and the National Art Society.
Principal, Amanda Golden, spoke with the students about the Public Art Master Plan Process and ideas about how they could get involved. Duluth High School has graciously agreed to partner with the City of Duluth in creating Public Art pieces with each class as a final project for the year, giving the finished pieces to the City to display. Students were encouraged to consider their culture in the creation of these pieces, as Duluth is dedicated to showcasing the diversity of it’s City, as well as the talent of it’s young people.
