Helping Duluth ‘Find Its Mojo’
As art enthusiasts and artists, the team at Designing Local is passionate about helping communities discover how to use art to improve their quality of life and enhance their economic competitiveness. Our client, The City of Duluth, Georgia, is embracing our community-driven process that answers the question, “What is Duluth?” The answers, always emotional and filled with pride of place, is hidden in the local culture. It has been a pleasure to bring the Duluth community through this important process of soul-searching.

The article explains how Duluth’s art plan will employ performing arts as a major component of its arts economic development strategy, something that is rare in communities its size. The story also acknowledges local developers, the people who build Duluth, have also been directly involved as way to implement public art in the private sector.
