NEXT: Cape May County Creative Placemaking Plan

We are extraordinarily excited to embark on a Creative Placemaking Plan for Cape May County, New Jersey!The plan will develop a brand identity, policy recommendations, and placemaking concepts for the County’s critical Open Space and Farmland Preservation Program.

If you have not been to Cape May County, it is well worth a visit.  Located at the southern tip of New Jersey, the area has beautiful beach communities, vast tidal wetlands, inland forests, and burgeoning viticulture and aquaculture industries.  

Designing Local is currently working with County leadership, staff, and stakeholders to develop an in-depth understanding of the community character.  This will inform the development of the brand identity as well as placemaking elements such as site furnishings, lighting, shelters, and wayfinding systems.  The team is also developing a planning framework to incorporate public art into future projects throughout the County.
