NEXT: National Register on the Rise
We are excited to announce the launch of three new projects to pursue listings for historic buildings and neighborhoods on the Nation Register of Historic Places! These three projects will nominate the Astrup BuildingĀ in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood of Cleveland, a district in downtown Van Wert, and a district including the Carousel District and Central Park in downtown Mansfield respectively. The National Register Nomination process often takes nearly a year from start to finish but the result is recognition by the federal government as a significant building or district that contributes to the local, state, and national history. Additionally, and many times more importantly, buildings on the National Register are able to apply for Federal and State Historic Tax Credits. We look forward to working in three great communities, each with it own unique story.
