NEXT: SANDUSKY PUBLIC ART MASTER PLAN

Nothing makes us more excited than working in our own backyard – or in this case – Ohio’s lakeshore. Designing Local is excited to announce that we have begun work on a Public Art Master Plan for the City of Sandusky.

This is an exciting time in Sandusky. 2018 marks the Bicentennial for the city and its celebrations will only serve to highlight the renaissance that is taking place there. New restaurants, bars, art galleries, hotels, and more dot the city’s historic downtown. Innovative projects are being planned along the bay and throughout the city.

Most importantly for this project, the city has codified a Percent for Art ordinance which dictates that 1% of the funds of all Admissions Tax go towards public art. This makes Sandusky a leader in Ohio. We’re very excited to see where Sandusky goes from here and we hope to see lots of faces at our Kickoff event – The Public Art Popsicle Pop Up – Thursday May 17th from 6:00 – 7:30pm.
