Plain City Survey on the Future
Plain City Survey on the Future
Plain City, Ohio
Why
Designing Local in collaboration with the Comprehensive Plan Committee embarked on a survey process which sought to understand the vision that Plain City residents and others in the Plain City area see for the Village’s future.
Titled the ‘Survey on the Future’ over 600 Village residents and more than 400 other stakeholders contributed their thoughts. These responses were compiled and compared with responses to previous surveys. The results help to establish a baseline for the Plain City Comprehensive Plan.
How
In order to ensure that residents were aware of the survey, business cards were widely distributed at the 4th of July and Steam Threshers parade. Additionally door tags were posted to the doors of Village residents to encourage participation.
The resulting responses showed greater engagement than the previous survey and allowed for the participation of others who care about the future of Plain City, such as former residents.
What
The results were compiled into the ‘Survey on the Future’ final report and presentation to Council. The full results were also made available to the public in addition to the shorter final report.
